I love how a coat of paint or a piece of fabric can make a very traditional piece look fresh and fun.

Hand Painted Upholstery
Suzanne Meyer Pistorius from BlugirlArt hand paints the fabrics on her restored vintage pieces. In 2008, she was working for Brooks Brothers as a technical designer with a 6 hour commute to Manhattan. She decided to return to her first love--fabric painting. Recycling discarded chairs became the foundation of her business.

The Butterfly Chair
It was so cool to discover that the fabric I'm using on my upholstery class chair is the same one used on this lovely chair from Horchow.
